Hi, I’m Rory! If you know me, you know that my husband and I love donuts. But you probably don’t know us because we’re new in town. A quick summary of the past 3 months: we got hitched on a farm, packed up our life’s possessions in two SUVs, said goodbye to Da Bears and landed here in the good ol’ state of Texas for my husband’s job.

Our recent move to the Dallas-Fort Worth area led to the following discoveries:

  1. Triple-digit weather
  2. How to stump Google (just get on any highway)
  3. The samples at Central Market
  4. …and most importantly, a plethora of mom-and-pop donut shops

How we got started:

Without a local dessert connoisseur, we wondered which shop could produce the best vanilla glazed donut? Which ones were worth an hour-long drive? Why are most closed by noon? No, but seriously.

I personally wanted to combine my love of donuts with a discovery of local DFW attractions. If I could sample a donut shop while also knocking something off my tourist bucket list it was a day well spent. And so the Donut Digest project was born.

To follow our journey, get the local scoop or recommend your favorite donut shop, send us a comment here. Our reviews are focused in the DFW area, but we are most definitely willing to travel for donuts.
